Freelance UI/UX Designer — React Native MVP (Figma, iOS & Android)

Contract: 4–6 weeks (extendable to v1.0)
Schedule: Flexible; 2–4 hrs overlap with GMT+5:30
Compensation: LKR 3,500–9,000/hour (or milestone-based)

About the Project

We’re building a cross-platform MVP in React Native and need a product-minded UI/UX Designer to craft a clean, fast first release. You’ll define the UX, ship a cohesive design system, and deliver a dev-ready Figma file with prototypes and specs for TestFlight/Play Console internal testing.

Scope & Deliverables

Discovery & UX

• Product brief refinement, personas, problem statements, success metrics.

• Information architecture, user flows, and low-/mid-fidelity wireframes.

UI & Design System

• High-fidelity screens for iOS & Android (HIG + Material 3 alignment).

• Design tokens (color, type scale, spacing, radius, shadows), light/dark.

• Component library (buttons, inputs, lists, tabs, cards, modals) with variants & Auto Layout.

• Accessibility: WCAG 2.2 AA contrast, touch targets, motion preferences.

MVP Screens (initial set)

• Onboarding, auth (email/OTP/social), profile, home/browse, search + filters, list + detail, forms & validation, settings, notifications opt-in.

• States: loading/skeletons, empty, error, offline.

Prototyping & Handoff

• Clickable Figma prototype with micro-interactions.

• Redlines/specs via Figma Inspect; component & token naming developer-friendly.

• Export package: app icons, splash, fav assets, Lottie/JSON (if any).

• Hand-off doc with flows, acceptance criteria, and copy deck.

Design QA (pre-release)

• 1 pass reviewing the built app vs. design, with a punch-list for fixes.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years designing mobile apps; 2+ shipped products in portfolio.

• Expert in Figma (components, variants, Auto Layout, variables/tokens).

• Strong grasp of HIG/Material, usability heuristics, and mobile patterns.

• Clear communication, crisp specs, pragmatic approach to MVP scope.

Nice-to-Have

• Motion design (smart animate, Lottie), brand identity polish, localization readiness (LTR/RTL), payments/checkout flows, analytics event mapping.

Milestones (example)

1. Week 1: Discovery, flows, wireframes, initial tokens.

2. Week 2–3: High-fidelity screens + component library; prototype v1.

3. Week 4: Edge states, dark mode, assets, hand-off package.

4. Week 5–6 (optional): Design QA + iteration for store-ready visuals.

Budget

• Hourly: LKR 3,500–9,000 based on experience & speed.

• Fixed: Propose milestone quotes with scope, assumptions, risks.
